Prints on paper
When creating the layout for a paper print, the size of the paper, the size of the print and the desired white space must be taken into consideration. The largest Iris giclée print area is 34" x 46". The size of the print and the white space are specified by the customer.

For example, if you wanted to place four images on a 35" x 46.5" sheet, and you wanted a minimum of 2" of white space on all sides, you would compute the image size as follows: (35" - (2" X 4 sides) / 2 = 13.5" for the short side and (46" - (2" X 4 sides ) / 2 = 19" for the long side. Therefore, each of the four prints would be 13.5" x 19", and there would be 2" of white paper on all sides of each print. Please refer to the illustration at left.

In this example two 20" x 30" prints are positioned on one 35" x 46.5" sheet. This allows for approximately 1.5" of white space around each image.

In another example, twelve 8" x 10" prints are positioned on one 35" x 46.5" sheet. This allows for approximately .8" of white space around each image.

This could be one image with a "step & repeat" or it could be twelve different images. Please see our current Pricing Guide for the cost of placing more than two images on a sheet.

Roland Giclées
Roland giclées are printed on roll stock and pricing is based on square inches, so layout considerations are not as critical. Most media for Roland giclée printing is available in 53" wide rolls, allowing prints up to about 50" wide (leaving room for stretching canvas) by virtually any length required. Note that our pricing includes leaving at least 1-1/2" of canvas for stretching.
