| Artist Bruce Robert Coffin on the Art of Giclée | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Bruce Robert Coffin is a Maine native and self-taught artist. He paints in a Realism style, working in acrylic, oil, graphite and watercolor mediums. Working largely from photographs, he tends not to focus on any one type of subject matter in his paintings; instead he paints whatever inspires him. He has created everything from a police officers funeral, to a rusty and forgotten automobile at woods edge, to a child enjoying the first apple of the fall harvest. He brings each painting to life through imagery and detail, evoking a feeling of familiarity from the viewer. Bruce finds inspiration in the work of such talented artists as N.C. Wyeth, Norman Rockwell and Suran Kaklegian. Currently, there are seven of Bruce's original paintings available in limited edition print. |
Bruce has exhibited his work in a number of public art shows and galleries. Many of his paintings are commissioned works that now hang in private collections throughout the United States and abroad. During the previous year, one of Bruce's original works, titled: "In Dry Dock (Cape Porpoise)" was chosen by the owner of Blacksmith's Winery to be the label art for their 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon. Bruce is currently represented by Little Sebago Gallery and Frame in North Windham, Maine and by Casco Bay Frame and Gallery in Portland, Maine. |
